20 miles in length, located in the heart of National Forest with designated Wilderness, Trinity lake (aka Clair Engle Lake) is surrounded by 10,000 ' snowcapped mountains. Trinity Lake is located in the Trinity Alps Mt. range of N. California. It has 145 mi.of shoreline & summer surface water-temp can get into the 80's.The lake holds the record for smallmouth bass(9 lbs+) and has largemouth, rainbow and German brown, catfish, Kokanee salmon. Modern resorts, cabins, campgrounds, marinas & houseboat & ski boats rentals are all available. Trinity Center is a small town situated on the northern edge of the Lake, with full services available year-round, including an airport. Commercial airlines are located 1 hour from the Lake in Redding. Trinity Lake is still uncrowded and pristine. No homes are located on the lake shore itself, which is patrolled by Forest Service and very well maintained, however there are homes for sale in the general area around the lake.
