Tom comes to Purple Pig Realty with over forty years of experience as a General Contractor/ Home Builder and working in the appraisal business. He gained extensive knowledge of the real estate market in Sabine County during his twenty-four years working at the Sabine County Appraisal District where he retired as Chief Appraiser. He also worked alongside a Certified General Appraiser for ten years (for the love of the business and to supplement his income) where he gained additional knowledge of the real estate market and the appraisal process in surrounding areas of Newton, Jasper, Tyler, San Augustine, and Shelby Counties. In August 2017, Tom & his wife Cindy moved to the Northwest Austin area where he worked alongside his oldest son Thomas who started the corporation Zollege, parent company of Vandelay Education. Thomas and his dad had a passion for giving back to the community and wanted to help the homelessness in the Austin area so they created "Purple Pig Realty". The company was launched in May 2018 after Tom received his real estate license and "away this little piggy flew". This was the first real estate company in Texas granted by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a PBC (Public Benefit Corporation). Now an LLC, the company has relocated the business to Sabine County in order to serve East Texas. Purple Pig Realty continues this endeavor to give a portion of its commission to a 501(c)(3) charity in the local community chosen by a buyer or seller represented by Purple Pig Realty.
